Celebrating health, talent, unity & joy.
Brahm is how Amrita Delhi NCR keeps its Founders’ Day — not with speeches alone, but with five days of seva, sport, stage and celebration that every one of us has a hand in making.
The week runs in one unbroken line — from a health camp in a village on the morning of the 19th to the last word spoken in the Amriteshwari Auditorium on the 23rd. That line is the whole of it. It says that what we are taught here was never meant to stop at the classroom door, and that a university is measured less by what it keeps than by what it is willing to give away.
And it is ours in the most literal way. Colleges arrive from across Delhi-NCR and leave having competed against people who were strangers that morning. Staff, families and neighbours fill the ground for the run and stay long into the carnival nights. What began as a single day of gratitude is now a week the campus carries on its own shoulders — and hands on, a little larger, to the batch that comes next.
Come for a competition. Stay for the week. Leave having belonged to something.
The day Brahm is kept for — and the reason the five days are shaped the way they are.
Founders’ Day marks the birth anniversary of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Across every Amrita campus it is kept the same way she has always asked for — by turning a day of remembrance outward, into service.
That is the thread tying Founders’ Day to Brahm. The fest does not sit alongside the occasion; it is the occasion, carried by students. The health camps come first and the auditorium comes last, and everything between — the competitions, the run, the sport, the carnival — is the campus saying thank you in the way it knows best.
So the week opens in the villages and closes in the Amriteshwari Auditorium on 23rd September, with the Founders’ Day function itself.
Whose vision decided what this university is for — and why a health camp opens the fest.
Known to everyone on this campus simply as Amma.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was founded by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, and it is still her vision that decides what the university is for. She has said that education must reach the heart as surely as it reaches the head — that knowledge without compassion leaves a person unfinished.
From that one idea grew a university spread across campuses, hospitals that treat people regardless of what they can pay, research that begins with the problems India actually has, and village programmes that send students out of the lecture hall and into the places their learning is needed.
Compassion, service, knowledge and the dignity of every person are not a statement framed on a wall here. They are the reason a health camp opens Brahm on the morning of the 19th, before a single competition is judged.

About the fest
Where there is love, everything is effortless.
Brahm 2026 is the Founders’ Day Fest of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Delhi NCR Campus — five days built around the birth anniversary of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, celebrated across every Amrita campus.
The week opens with seva — free health check-up camps in the villages nearby — and moves through the inter-college cultural competitions, a marathon, an auto expo, carnival and DJ nights, three days of in-house sport, and closes with the Founders’ Day function in the Amriteshwari Auditorium on 23rd September.
